Senior Associate - Risk & Compliance - Bristol - 4+ Years PQE

Salary: £65,000 to £80,000 (depending on experience)

A reputable national law firm is seeking a Senior Associate to join its expanding Risk & Compliance team in Bristol. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced lawyer to take on a strategic, varied and influential role within a collaborative department that plays a crucial part in maintaining the firm's regulatory and ethical standards.

The Role
As a key member of the Risk & Compliance team, you will be involved in:

  • Assisting with claims handling, including liaising with fee earners, insurers, brokers, panel solicitors and other stakeholders
  • Managing complaints in line with the firm's procedures
  • Advising internal and external stakeholders on risk related issues
  • Supporting the Director of Legal and Commercial Risk with strategic and operational matters
  • Advising on regulatory queries relating to the SRA Standards & Regulations, Principles and Codes of Conduct, as well as equivalent rules in Scotland, Northern Ireland and Ireland
  • Liaising with regulators where required
  • Reviewing, updating and drafting policies
  • Collaborating with colleagues across multiple office locations


Candidate Requirements
This role is suited to a qualified Solicitor with:

  • 4+ years' PQE, with experience in law firm regulation, solicitors' PI claims, complaints handling or commercial contract work
  • Strong analytical, communication and organisational skills
  • The ability to manage competing workloads and deadlines
  • A proactive, forward thinking and solutions focused approach
  • A collaborative mindset and willingness to support junior team members
