A leading full service UK law firm is seeking an experienced Banking & Finance Partner to join its nationally recognised team in Cardiff. The practice advises major banks, financial institutions and borrowers across a wide range of finance matters, with particular strength in structured finance and funds finance. The team is highly regarded for its sector expertise and strong client relationships across sport, hospitality, renewables, healthcare, real estate and the public sector.

The Role
The firm is looking to speak with senior lawyers (10+ PQE) with a strong track record in structured finance and/or funds finance transactions. Responsibilities include:

  • Acting for clearing banks and institutional lenders
  • Advising on complex banking and finance matters, with a focus on structured finance and funds finance
  • Leading transactions from structuring and negotiation through to execution and completion
  • Ensuring compliance with client policies, regulatory requirements and best practice
  • Managing and developing strong client relationships
  • Supporting the growth of the team and contributing to strategic business development
  • Mentoring and supervising junior lawyers and trainees


You will have the opportunity to build on existing client relationships while being fully supported in developing your practice and progressing your career.

Candidate Requirements
You will be an England & Wales qualified solicitor with:

  • 10+ years' experience in banking and finance at a leading regional or national firm
  • Proven expertise in structured finance and/or funds finance
  • Strong commercial awareness and sector knowledge
  • A track record of acting for lenders on complex transactions
  • Experience managing and developing junior team members
  • The ability to build and maintain long term client relationships
  • A proactive, collaborative and commercially focused approach
