Contract & Commercial Litigation Solicitor / FCILEx
Location: Bristol

A well established national law firm known for its strong insurer, financial services and membership organisation partnerships are looking for an experienced litigation professional to join our Contract Resolution team within the Civil Litigation division. This is a varied and stimulating role handling a broad caseload of non injury civil disputes, including:

  • Commercial and consumer contract disputes
  • Misrepresentation
  • Professional negligence
  • Construction matters
  • Both Claimant and Defendant work, including high value and complex instructions


You'll work with clients referred through Legal Expenses Insurance as well as privately instructed individuals and businesses. The team is collaborative, supportive and led by highly experienced partners committed to developing their people.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing a caseload of fast, intermediate and multi track contract disputes
  • Progressing files using the firm's case management system
  • Working to deadlines while maintaining excellent client care


Flexible hybrid working is available.

Candidate Requirements

  • Essential Skills & Experience
    • Experience advising individuals and commercial clients on contract based disputes
    • Ability to manage your own caseload confidently
    • Strong organisational skills and a pragmatic, solutions focused mindset
    • Excellent communication and client care skills
    • Competent using case management systems
    • Good IT literacy, including Microsoft Office
  • Desirable
    • Experience working with insurance funded clients
  • Qualifications
    • Qualified Solicitor (LLB/CILEX route), or
    • FCILEx, or
    • Equivalent experience in a similar role
