Solicitor - Tax Associate (Private Client) - Poundbury
Location: Poundbury

Salary: £45,000 to £60,000 (dependent on experience)

A well established and forward thinking regional law firm is seeking a Tax Associate to join its growing Private Client team in Poundbury. This opportunity offers high quality work, strong professional development, and a friendly, collaborative team culture within a respected Private Client department.

The Role
As a Tax Associate within the Private Client team, you will play a key role in delivering expert tax compliance and advisory services to a broad range of clients. Responsibilities include:

  • Completing Self Assessment Tax Returns for estates and individual clients
  • Managing Capital Gains Tax reporting, including 60 day filings
  • Preparing Inheritance Tax (IHT) returns for estates and lifetime transfers
  • Working closely with Trustees, partners, and colleagues to provide clear, accurate tax guidance
  • Supporting the wider Private Client team with technical tax input where required


This role is based full time in the Poundbury office, with hybrid flexibility available.

Candidate Requirements

  • Essential:
    • ATT and/or TEP qualification
    • Strong experience in personal tax compliance
    • Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage deadlines
    • Confident communication skills and a client focused approach
    • Strong IT skills, particularly Microsoft Excel
  • Desirable:
    • AAT (or equivalent) qualification
    • Experience working in a legal or professional services environment
