A well established and respected regional law firm is seeking a Family Solicitor or Legal Executive to join its Taunton office. This is an excellent opportunity to manage a varied caseload within a supportive, friendly and collaborative team, with strong long term career prospects.

The Role
You will handle a broad range of family law matters, providing high quality legal advice and exceptional client care. Responsibilities include:

  • Managing a varied caseload of family matters from instruction to conclusion
  • Advising on divorce and separation
  • Handling financial remedy proceedings
  • Managing private children matters
  • Advising on cohabitation disputes
  • Preparing and advising on pre and post nuptial agreements
  • Assisting clients with domestic abuse applications
  • Conducting face to face client meetings
  • Drafting and reviewing legal documents, agreements and court applications
  • Representing clients in negotiations and, where appropriate, court proceedings
  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation and SRA regulations
  • Building strong, long lasting client relationships
  • Supporting business development and networking initiatives


Candidate Requirements
The ideal candidate will have:

  • Proven experience managing a family law caseload
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organisational ability and attention to detail
  • Confidence managing deadlines and working independently
  • Proficiency with case management systems and Microsoft Office

  • Strong communication and client care skills
  • Ability to prioritise and manage time effectively
  • A positive, team focused attitude
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new systems and processes


Working Conditions
