A leading national law firm is seeking an Associate to join its highly ranked Commercial Dispute Resolution team in Bristol. This is an excellent opportunity to work closely with a Legal 500 recognised partner within a market leading practice that operates as a national service line. The Role
You will join a well established Commercial Dispute Resolution team, working with a broad range of clients across multiple sectors. Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing your own varied caseload of commercial disputes
- Handling litigation, arbitration and mediation matters
- Advising on contractual disputes, negligence claims, misrepresentation, retention of title, sale of goods and services disputes, and insolvency related issues
- Supporting senior lawyers on high value and complex matters
- Contributing to business development and networking initiatives
- Assisting with best practice development and precedent improvement
- Supporting the development of junior team members
You will gain exposure to notable clients through the firm's national service lines and receive bespoke training to build both technical and commercial expertise.
Candidate Requirements
This role is ideal for a lawyer with:
- A minimum of 2 years' PQE as a Qualified Solicitor
- A strong background in commercial dispute resolution and litigation principles
- Experience in procurement disputes (advantageous but not essential)
- Excellent analytical, communication and organisational skills
- A proactive, commercially aware mindset with enthusiasm for business development
- The ability to understand client needs and deliver practical, strategic advice
- A collaborative approach and willingness to support senior fee earners
The Team
The Commercial Dispute Resolution team advises a wide range of clients including PLCs, public bodies, international companies, owner managed businesses and non profit organisations. The team regularly handles significant, high value disputes and is experienced in litigation, arbitration, mediation and early stage dispute management.
