Construction Lawyer - Bristol - 2+ Years PQE

Salary: £70,000-£100,000 (realistic market range for Bristol construction lawyers with 2+ PQE)

A well regarded full service UK law firm is seeking a Construction Lawyer with 2+ years' experience to join its friendly and collaborative Bristol team. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a top 100 firm, gaining exposure to a broad range of high quality contentious and non contentious construction matters across multiple sectors.

The Role
You will join a supportive and high performing construction team, working closely with Partners, senior lawyers, and junior colleagues. Your work will include:

  • Drafting, negotiating and advising on standard and bespoke construction and engineering contracts (JCT, NEC, IChemE, IET, ACA)
  • Handling a mix of contentious and non contentious construction matters
  • Advising clients across sectors including waste, infrastructure, higher education, health, and commercial property development
  • Supporting clients at all stages of the construction process, from early project planning to dispute resolution
  • Working with developers, funders, investors, contractors, and consultants
  • Managing a varied caseload with opportunities to take responsibility for complex and high value matters
  • Collaborating with colleagues across the wider firm to support commercial property transactions and major projects

Candidate Requirements
This role is suited to a construction lawyer with:

  • 2+ years' PQE (or equivalent experience) in construction law
  • Experience across both contentious and non contentious matters, or a willingness to develop in both
  • Strong drafting and negotiation skills
  • A collaborative mindset and enjoyment of team based work
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A proactive, positive, and engaging approach
  • Confidence working with a wide range of clients and stakeholders


Working Arrangements

The firm operates a hybrid working model. For this role, you will spend at least 2 days per week in the Bristol office, supporting collaboration, team culture, and cross referral opportunities.
