My client is looking for an interim solicitor to support its Property Litigation team while they recruit permanently. The work is focused on long‑leasehold residential matters, and they're open to someone joining on a full‑time or part‑time basis. Remote working is possible for the right candidate, though some office presence is preferred.

Start date: Ideally by mid-March 2026

Duration: Ongoing while they seek a permanent hire, with a 1 week notice period

Rate: Competitive, depending on experience

PQE: 3+

The work will include:

  • Residential landlord and tenant disputes across small claims, fast track and multi‑track
  • Breach of lease matters, including County Court and First‑tier Tribunal work
  • Forfeiture and possession proceedings
  • Lease extensions, variations and general lease analysis
  • FTT applications and enforcement of judgments
  • Appointment of manager applications
  • Advising clients on major works consultation, Section 20B notices, lease structure and notices of repair
  • Supporting the pre‑litigation team with queries
  • Helping to train and mentor junior colleagues and trainees

What they're looking for:

  • A qualified solicitor with at least 3 years' experience in residential property litigation
  • Strong working knowledge of the Civil Procedure Rules and long‑leasehold legislation
  • Familiarity with the Landlord & Tenant Act 1985/1987 and the Commonhold & Leasehold Reform Act 2002
  • Someone organised, proactive and comfortable managing a busy caseload
  • Clear, confident communication skills and the ability to explain complex issues in a straightforward way
  • A collaborative approach and willingness to support junior team members
  • Good IT skills and strong attention to detail
  • Understanding of the RTM process, the Companies Act 2006 or key leasehold case law (desirable)
