Residential Conveyancer (Solicitor / CILEx / Licensed Conveyancer) - Gloucestershire
Location: Gloucestershire (with flexibility across local offices)
Type of Role: Permanent, Full-time (Part-time considered)
Salary: £40,000 to £55,000 (dependent on experience)

A well established regional law firm is seeking a Residential Conveyancer (Solicitor, Legal Executive or Licensed Conveyancer) to join its respected Residential Conveyancing team in Gloucestershire. This is an excellent opportunity to join a department known for its high quality, client focused approach rather than a high volume model.

The Role
You will manage a varied caseload of residential property matters, including:

  • Sales and purchases
  • Transfers of equity
  • Remortgages


Your responsibilities will include:

  • Interviewing clients and taking detailed instructions
  • Maintaining accurate file notes and checklists
  • Reviewing compliance documentation and AML source of funds evidence
  • Preparing client care letters
  • Drafting and reviewing contract packages
  • Raising enquiries and submitting searches
  • Preparing title, mortgage and search reports
  • Acting for mortgage lenders
  • Exchanging contracts and completing transactions
  • Drafting transfer deeds and raising requisitions
  • Advising clients on progress, costs and next steps
  • Ensuring all documents are checked and compliant
  • Providing undertakings in approved form
  • Participating in marketing, networking and business development activities


You will also handle accounts related procedures, including:

  • Preparing bills, completion statements and requesting approvals
  • Managing payments on account
  • Requesting cheques and authorised signatures
  • Handling telegraphic transfers and notifications
  • Managing client and office account transfers
  • Referring cheque or bill amendments for approval

Candidate Requirements
This role is suited to a qualified:

  • Solicitor
  • Legal Executive (CILEx)
  • Licensed Conveyancer


You should also have:

  • A Law degree or CILEx Professional Qualification (CPQ)
  • Previous experience in residential conveyancing, ideally within the Gloucestershire or wider South West property market
  • Strong IT skills and confidence using case management systems
  • Excellent client care standards
  • Enthusiasm for marketing and business development, including networking and social media engagement


Location and Working Hours

  • Full-time (Monday to Friday, 9am-5.15pm)
  • Part-time applicants will be considered
  • Based in Gloucestershire, with flexibility across nearby offices
  • Hybrid working available post probation
