Property Litigation Lawyer - Monmouth - 2+ PQE
Location: Monmouth (Hybrid Working Available After Settling In Period)
Type of Role: Permanent, Full-time
Salary: £45,000 to £60,000 (depending on experience)
A well established regional law firm is seeking a Property Litigation Lawyer (2+ PQE) to join its Monmouth office. This is an excellent opportunity to build and manage your own caseload of property litigation matters while working closely with the wider Dispute Resolution team. The role offers a varied workload, strong client contact, and the chance to develop a specialist practice within a supportive environment.
The Role
You will handle a broad range of property litigation matters, including:
- Boundary disputes
- Ownership and TOLATA claims
- Residential and commercial landlord and tenant disputes
- Possession proceedings
- Easement disputes (rights of way, light, usage)
- Dilapidation claims
- Land ownership issues
- Leasehold extensions and business tenancy matters under the Landlord and Tenant Act 1954
Key responsibilities include:
- Taking instructions and maintaining detailed file notes
- Drafting pleadings, witness statements and other legal documents
- Preparing cost estimates and issuing Client Care Letters
- Updating clients regularly on progress and costs
- Preparing and checking court bundles
- Conducting advocacy where required
- Negotiating settlements and drafting settlement documentation
- Ensuring matters progress efficiently and in line with regulatory requirements
- Supervising junior team members where appropriate
You will also provide advice to other departments, including Commercial Property, Employment, Debt Recovery and Probate.
Marketing & Business Development
- Attending networking events and developing new work sources
- Supporting marketing initiatives and social media activity
- Collaborating across departments to raise the firm's profile
- Identifying cross selling opportunities
Candidate Requirements
This role is suited to:
- A qualified Solicitor or FCILEx with 2+ years' PQE in civil litigation and/or property law
- Someone interested in specialising further in property litigation
- An IT literate individual comfortable with new systems and processes
- A confident networker with an interest in business development
- A proactive, organised and commercially aware lawyer
- Someone who enjoys working collaboratively across departments
Working Hours
- Full-time, Monday to Friday, 9am - 5pm
- Based in the Monmouth office with hybrid working available after the settling in period
