Associate/Senior Associate - Insolvency (2+ PQE)
Location: London (Hybrid working: 2-3 days in office)

Overview

Our client is seeking an experienced Associate or Senior Associate and would consider Legal Director for the right person (2+ PQE) to join our cross office team. Based primarily in our client's London office, you will work closely with the Partner leading the team and support two junior fee earners. While you will have day to day supervisory responsibilities in London, you will also collaborate with colleagues across our UK offices as part of a fully integrated national practice.

This role offers exposure to a broad range of corporate and personal insolvency matters-transactional, advisory, and contentious-and the opportunity to work directly with a diverse client base including insolvency practitioners, banks, lenders, investors, directors, companies, and individuals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a varied caseload across all aspects of personal and corporate insolvency.
  • Advise on administration appointments, security reviews, business and asset sales, winding up petitions, bankruptcy matters, and bankruptcy estate issues.
  • Handle contentious insolvency matters including transactions at undervalue, preferences, misfeasance, and directors' loan account disputes.
  • Work with and advise LPA Receivers (experience advantageous but not essential).
  • Supervise and mentor junior team members within the London office.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and referrers across the insolvency profession.
  • Contribute to business development initiatives and networking activities to support the continued growth of the practice.


About You

  • At least 5 years PQE with substantial experience in both personal and corporate insolvency.
  • Strong working knowledge of the Insolvency Act 1986, Insolvency Rules 2016, and Companies Act 2006.
  • Confident handling a wide range of insolvency processes from appointment to realisation and recovery.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to supervise, delegate and support junior colleagues.
  • A proactive, commercially minded approach with enthusiasm for client engagement and business development.
  • Existing relationships within the insolvency profession or a following would be welcomed.
