A highly respected regional firm is seeking an experienced Wills, Tax & Trusts Lawyer to join its Private Client team. This is a rare opportunity to work on complex, high value matters across wills, tax planning, trusts and powers of attorney, delivering exceptional service to a long standing and loyal client base.
The Role
You'll provide expert legal advice across a wide range of private client matters, including:
- Drafting and advising on all aspects of wills
- Setting up and managing lifetime trusts, including annual trust tax returns
- Managing estate and trust administration
- Advising on inheritance tax planning, with strong working knowledge of all capital taxes
- Managing a portfolio of clients for whom the firm holds Lasting Powers of Attorney (property & financial affairs, and health & welfare)
- Staying up to date with developments in private client law, taxation and compliance
- Delivering high quality, empathetic client care and building strong relationships with clients and professional referrers
- Actively contributing to business development and attracting new clients
Candidate Requirements
This role is suited to a Private Client specialist with:
- Strong experience in wills, trusts, tax planning and estate administration
- A solid understanding of capital taxes and inheritance tax planning
- Excellent communication skills and a compassionate, client centred approach
- Confidence managing a varied caseload of complex and high value matters
- Strong organisational skills and meticulous attention to detail
- The ability to build rapport with clients, accountants, financial advisers and other professionals
- A proactive approach to networking and business development
