Associate/Senior Associate - UK Private Client - Cheltenham - 2+ Years PQE
Location: Cheltenham (with hybrid working flexibility)
Type of Role: Fixed Term Contract (12 months), Full-time
Salary: £50,000 to £80,000

A leading UK Private Client team is seeking an Associate or Senior Associate with 2+ years' post-qualification experience to join its Cheltenham office on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This role offers the opportunity to advise a broad range of UK clients on succession and tax planning matters, covering a period of family leave. Hybrid working is available to support work-life balance.

The Role
You'll be responsible for:

  • Advising UK clients on succession and tax planning
  • Managing a substantial and varied caseload efficiently and cost-effectively
  • Drafting complex legal documents with minimal supervision
  • Applying a commercial approach to legal research and advice delivery
  • Supervising and coordinating work of junior team members where appropriate
  • Participating in client seminars, presentations, and marketing initiatives
  • Identifying and pursuing new client opportunities
  • Contributing to team knowledge and know-how development
  • Ensuring compliance with SRA Standards and Regulations


Candidate Requirements
This role is suited to a qualified solicitor with:

  • Admission as a solicitor in England and Wales (or equivalent, such as CILEX)
  • 2+ years PQE in private client work
  • Strong knowledge of domestic and international succession and tax planning
  • Excellent judgement and commercial awareness
  • High attention to detail and strong drafting skills
  • Ability to manage files independently and efficiently
  • Strong problem-solving and interpersonal skills
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and team-oriented approach
  • Ability to build rapport and maintain client relationships


Desirable:

  • STEP qualification
