A respected and forward-thinking law firm is seeking a Property Solicitor with 2-3+ years' post-qualification experience to join its Commercial Litigation team in Newport. This is a fantastic opportunity for a confident litigator with a strong interest in property disputes to take ownership of a varied caseload and contribute to the department's continued growth.

The Role
You'll be responsible for:

  • Managing a caseload of property-related litigation matters including landlord and tenant disputes, boundary issues, and TOLATA claims
  • Advising clients on commercial lease assignments, rent reviews, deposit schemes, and tenancy agreements
  • Representing clients in negotiations and legal proceedings, including advocacy where appropriate
  • Handling complex disputes such as unlawful evictions, adverse possession, and lease forfeiture
  • Ensuring compliance with firm procedures, SRA regulations, and client care standards
  • Maintaining accurate time recording and billing in liaison with the Accounts Department
  • Supporting business development initiatives and strengthening client relationships
  • Collaborating with colleagues across departments and contributing to firm-wide goals


Candidate Requirements
This role is suited to a qualified solicitor with:

  • Admission to the Solicitors Roll
  • 2-3+ years PQE in property litigation or related areas
  • Proven ability to manage a busy caseload independently
  • Strong technical knowledge of landlord and tenant law, property disputes, and litigation strategy
  • Excellent communication and client care skills
  • Commercial awareness and a proactive approach to problem-solving
  • Experience with case management and time recording systems
  • Motivation to build a long-term career in private practice


Desirable:

  • Experience conducting own advocacy
  • Coaching or mentoring skills
  • Understanding of health and safety responsibilities in the workplace
