Public Sector Solicitor - Exeter - NQ to 3 Years PQE

A leading law firm is seeking a talented Solicitor (NQ-3 years PQE) to join their highly regarded Commercial & IP team, specialising in Public Sector work. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a nationally recognised team delivering impactful legal solutions to public sector clients across the UK.
The Role
You'll work closely with a Partner and contribute to major public sector projects across sectors such as energy, transport, regeneration, telecommunications, and social care. Your responsibilities will include:
- Advising on public procurement rules and public sector contracts
- Supporting clients with grant funding, subsidy control, and local authority vires
- Collaborating across departments on large-scale national projects
- Providing input on procurement challenges and disputes
- Delivering pragmatic, commercially sound legal advice
- You'll be part of a team consistently ranked in Legal 500 and Chambers & Partners, known for its high performance and collaborative culture.
Candidate Requirements
We're looking for someone who:
- Is a qualified Solicitor with up to 3 years' PQE
- Has experience working with public sector clients or in-house for a public body
- Ideally has knowledge of procurement law, public contracts, or subsidy control
- Demonstrates strong drafting, analytical, and research skills
- Is commercially astute with excellent attention to detail
- Communicates confidently and handles matters proactively
