Legal Counsel

Our client, an engineering and technology company are recruiting for an exciting opportunity as a Legal Counsel to join their busy Legal Team.

The role:

Will be to provide legal advice and support to the business at all levels and across a broad range of sectors.

The Legal Team's objective is to be a trusted advisor to the business. The role involves reviewing, drafting and negotiating a wide variety of commercial agreements. Due to the varied nature of the organisations work, there is a requirement for general advisory work on matters including intellectual property and data protection. The successful candidate will also be involved in the preparation of precedent documents, providing legal support for internal projects and engaging with the wider Legal Team

Essential requirements:

• A qualified commercial solicitor with at least 4 years PQE either in private practice or in-house.
• Experience in reviewing, drafting and negotiating commercial agreements, including supply terms, framework agreements, memorandums of understanding and subcontracts.
• Ability to provide training and guidance to team members and the business on relevant legal developments.
• Excellent written and oral communication and the ability to confidently interact with project teams, senior management and external parties.
• Strong ability to work to challenging timeframes and under pressure.
• Ability to work well independently, coupled with strong interpersonal skills and a willingness to participate in a collaborative team environment.

Desirable requirements:

• Experience advising on intellectual property issues and data protection matters.
• Experience of advising on Government Framework Agreements, NEC contracts and MOD DEFCONs

This will be a hybrid role requiring 2-3 days based in one of their UK offices which Includes Manchester, Leatherhead, Bristol or Glasgow.
