What an interesting and rare role this is, that might suit either a qualified Trade Mark Attorney or a dual-qualified TMA and qualified Solicitor.

Our client is one of the best, high profile firms in the SW, without question. They have an exceptional reputation and by way of example have featured in The Sunday Times Best 100 Companies to work for list for a pretty impressive last six years consecutively !

The firm offers one of the largest Intellectual Property, IT and Data Protection teams in the UK, and this is a rare chance to join the team, ideally to be based in their fantastic HQ offices in Exeter down in Devon, so with all the quality of life and work/life balance benefits on offer as well. The team is already recognised by CITMA as a leading filer of trade marks in the UK and the firm is continuing with ambitious plans to further grow their practice over the next 2 to 3 years, and this is a key role to be a part of that !

You will have the opportunity to undertake a varied and interesting client caseload which will include, but is not limited to, filing, prosecuting and registering trade marks and designs at UK, EU and international level, running oppositions and appeal cases and assisting in infringement matters. The work is top quality and each day is different. A key part of the role will also be developing relationships with existing clients and helping to bring in portfolio work internationally by developing new connections and leveraging opportunities where possible around their new London offices, so there is ample opportunity for the right person to really demonstrate their client relationship and business development skills and initiative over a long period of time.

The successful candidate is likely to have perhaps at least 5 years of strong, relevant experience including legal and commercial experience, knowledge and capability in relation to both UK and EU registered and unregistered intellectual property rights. You will be ambitious personally, but a team player as well, and of course you will be at a stage in your career where you are now looking for another step up and the right platform for your high level career progression over the next few years.
