A really rare new role for an ambitious junior level Employment Law Solicitor who is perhaps looking for a role and challenge, and a potential career path, that is a little bit different to the norm and the usual ?!
Our client is an exceptional law firm, without doubt offering one of the leading specialist Employment Law teams in the UK, and they have just announced this very interesting and exciting new role to be based out of their growing Cardiff offices.
They are looking for an extra PDL for the team, a Practice Development Lawyer, and this could be full-time or part-time and/or offering some flexible working arrangements. The role generally will involve typical PDL responsibilities including organising training and legal updates for the Employment Law team, maintaining and developing precedents and knowledge materials, assisting the team with legal research and responding to any particular queries raised by the team, supporting the team's client training, conference speaking and wider business development work, and overseeing and helping write and prepare articles and client publications. Every day is different in a PDL role but crucially of course you don't have the same time and billing targets and fee-earning pressures.
They are expecting the ideal candidate will be a qualified Employment Law Solicitor but perhaps still at a relatively early stage in their career, and of course either based already in South Wales or potentially looking to relocate back home to the area. You are likely to be working at the moment as part of a strong Employment Law team, gaining good experience, with a strong academic track record in the past, and clearly in a role like this having strong writing, analytical and organisational skills and a clear, appropriate communication style are going to be vitally important.
This is a rare type of role to see come up in the market and it is likely to generate a lot of interest so please get in touch as soon as possible if this sounds like it could be of interest for you. It is a chance to join a UK Top 100 commercial law firm and as explained above certainly one of the best Employment Law teams in the country. The current team UK-wide has up to 24 Partners and well over 100 specialist Employment lawyers, dealing with a very high grade of both contentious and non-contentious work for a diverse range of clients.
