Chadwick Nott have been instructed on an interesting, newly developed role within a high-performing national corporate practice. This position offers senior Corporate Lawyers with solid transactional and advisory experience to undertake a client facing, strategic role without the usual transactional element of a Corporate Lawyer's role.
This opportunity would therefore be ideal for Corporate Solicitors who would like to gain a more structured work/life balance without stepping back from client-facing work, particularly advisory and governance.
The role of a Practice Development Lawyer is to promote the practice of the department and generate revenue through corporate law-specific content creation and marketing, establishing and developing precedents for more efficient transactions, training junior fee-earners (from time to time) and dealing with advisory and regulatory queries from clients. Beyond this, the brief is flexible and the successful candidate will be able to collaboratively decide their strategy and way of working.
Unlike with a normal PSL role, the successful candidate will be able to retain an element of client-facing work and with this comes the potential even for partnership further down the line. You will be involved in departmental and general marketing strategy meetings and occupy a senior position in the team.
This role would ideally suit a Corporate Lawyer of extensive experience, at least 10 years' PQE. You could either currently be a fee-earning lawyer, looking for a less time-intensive role or currently a PSL who wants more room to grow and to work closely with clients again.
