This highly regarded London firm are looking for a Legal Training and Development Manager to join them on a permanent basis. This role is less about creating training courses based on an understanding of the theory of training and more about understanding what a lawyer is saying when they describe their technical legal training needs and being able to talk to barristers about delivering that/ensuring the content is what is needed. Legal knowledge is key to the success of this role.
The role will sit withing the wider Knowledge Management Team with the firm and support UK based lawyers as its primary focus. As a secondary focus, the role will support international offices on how to run legal training. The role is ideally suited for either a qualified lawyer or someone with a previous experience in the legal industry (e.g. it could be someone from business services within another law firm or with a legal publishing/legal technology background. Legal knowledge is key to the success of this role.
Main responsibilities for this role are:* To develop a rolling seminar programme of training for UK lawyers - work with our UK lawyers teams to understand their training needs and work with barristers and training providers to deliver this as training content /as seminars* To develop training programmes to meet the training needs of lawyers at different stages of their career* To build good relationships with training providers (chambers etc)* To manage the legal training budget - review/approve requests for ad hoc training and offer training solutions* To provide support and guidance on Continuing Competence
