Are you a Housing Litigation or Property Litigation Paralegal looking for a new challenge? I am seeking applications form NQ Solicitors, Legal Executives or Paralegals who want to specialise in Landlord and Tenant law for a new Fixed Term Contract position, working in-house with one of London's largest social housing provider.

My client has a well-established professional reputation with clear social objectives. With a portfolio of almost 30'000 properties this is a very exciting opportunity to work with a business that is clearly going places. Their offices are based in Central London and are easily reached by public transport.

This is a 6 month fixed term contract that is highly likely to turn into a permanent role provided the post holder is happy in their new position and performing well.

The purpose of this role is to provide an expert dispute resolution and advisory services across the organisation, assisting with complex housing relating matters including disrepair claims.

You will have experience in a range of housing litigation matters including

  • Pre- action advice
  • Legal proceedings
  • Settlements
  • Case Management
  • Instructing Counsel

You will have solid litigation experience and be confident in housing law, court protocols and civil procedure rules. You will be highly personable and able to communicate to all areas of business, working to deadlines and sometimes under some pressure. This role will suit those who like working with a high degree of autonomy and who are motivated by seeing the positive effects of their work.

Experience of the housing or local government sectors would be desirable. Candidates from the private sector with a keen interest in dispute resolution might also be interested in applying to this niche in-house role.

Applicants do not need to be qualified but do need to be able to demonstrate enthusiasm and interest in Housing Law and have the ambition to make the role their own.

A salary of circa £45'000 pro rata will be offered for this position. Ideally the post will be worked on a full time basis of 35 hours each week but this organisation are willing to negotiate a working pattern that attracts the best talent. Homeworking, part time working and flexible hours can all be discussed on application.
