Our client seeks to recruit an in-house property lawyer to join their established in-house legal team based in Birmingham city centre. The role will be responsible for generalist property issues with a particular focus on compulsory purchase orders.
The successful candidate will provide advice to stakeholders on all aspects of property law in including the acquisition of a very diverse range of properties comprising high value commercial, residential and agricultural properties, disposal of properties, granting and taking leasehold interests, landlord and tenant matters including litigation, granting easements to utilities and other stakeholders combined with handling your own case load of complex compulsory purchase matters which in some cases will include drafting and negotiating bespoke agreements.
This is a wide-ranging role and we are keen to hear from candidates that want to expand their property skill set whilst working closely with a supportive in-house legal team.
You will be a qualified solicitor with a minimum of 6 years' PQE. From either a private practice or possibly a public sector background the role would suit an individual with either Planning, Property Litigation or general Commercial Property experience. You will be able to demonstrate complex problem solving skills and have proven track record of managing a large caseload.
In addition to possessing a strong technical background you must exhibit strong personal credibility have excellent client care skills as well as being a talented communicator. Strong self-motivation and the ability to effectively prioritise and execute tasks under pressure is vital.
