Our Client a well regarded Telco organisation are looking for a legal counsel or solicitor for a 3 month period within the UK Legal Operations team, providing proactive and solutions-focussed commercial legal advice on a wide range of commercial contracts and strategic procurement, technology and business development projects.
Key responsibilities:Drafting and leading the negotiation of a wide range of high value and/or strategic commercial contracts, including in relation to:the procurement of goods and servicesUK network projects and network sharing arrangements business development activities and other strategic projectsActing as a key legal point of contact and providing pragmatic and solution-oriented legal advice and guidance to internal and external stakeholders, including Supply Chain Management (SCM), IT, Networks and Business Development & Strategy teams.Developing and maintaining good relationships with key stakeholders to ensure issues are resolved quickly and escalating where necessary and raising the profile and impact of the Legal function in the business.Monitoring advice given by external solicitors and ensuring it is appropriately disseminated to internal customers.In the case of disputes, working closely with the dispute resolution team to determine position and strategy, advise the relevant internal customers and achieve resolution.Reviewing a wide range of sources of information for new and proposed legal developments which impact the team's areas of responsibility. Raising new and emerging issues with the UK legal team and the UK business as appropriate, including providing advice and comment in writing and/or in presentations/workshops.Keeping contract templates and internal briefing notes up-to-date and providing ongoing training to ensure that key stakeholders contract as efficiently as possible and in a way that manages key legal risks.
Requirements:Solicitor with high-quality post-qualification experience in either private practice or in an in-house role, Must have a current practicing certificate. Proficient drafting skills and able to structure and draft complex commercial agreements.Rate payable up to £550pd (via approved Umbrella provider), PAYE rate available on request.
