Our client a global science and tech organisation are looking to hire a Legal Counsel on an interim basis until the end of March 2020.
The purpose of this role would be to provide high quality legal services throughout the businesses and to ensure legal compliance and co-ordinated risk management as part of the Legal team.
* Advising the Business Sector & Group Procurement function on a wide range of domestic and international commercial and compliance matters. * Understand the business sectors direct (raw material) and Indirect (goods and services) purchasing requirements. Drafting and negotiating a variety of legal documents and commercial contracts to reflect purchasing requirements to ensure the business has suitably robust purchasing contracts in place. This ranges from standard terms to bespoke agreements. All aspects of such arrangements are covered, including competition, IP, tax and insurance. * Providing general legal support to various business functions including procurement, technology, quality, supply chain and EHS teams across dept. * Working closely with the functions to ensure that appropriate due diligence and risk management procedures are in place to cover contractual and compliance risk management. * Carrying out legal and compliance training where relevant.* Implementing and maintaining standard form documents and procedures.
Requirements: * Qualified lawyer (Minimum of 3 years' experience in house or at a law firm) with broad legal experience gained either in a leading firm or in an in-house role and current practising certificate* Previous experience of working in an international environment * Demonstrates a commercial mind-set and applies relationship management skills to build relationships with key stakeholders across multiple areas of the Business.* Uses judgement and understanding of the business to evaluate and assess risks and promote solutions for risk mitigation and management across multiple areas of the business.
This role will initially be offered until the end of March 2020 on a daily rate (based on working via a ltd company). Start date planned for 2nd week in December.
Rate subject to experience but in region of £450 to £600 a day
