Market leading renewables company with a significant presence in renewables requires a Managing Legal Counsel EMEA. Reporting to the General Counsel, you will play a key role in the expansion of the business.You will be expected to independently manage transactions within deadlines and to work effectively with external counsel.

Your role will include management of other members of the EMEA legal team that support the development activities of and to supervise a trainee solicitor. As part of the legal team you will be expected to implement and monitor compliance with the internal compliance framework and corporate approvals policies. You should demonstrate an understanding on how to manage targets while managing project level, legal and compliance risk.

Opportunities will also arise: * to work closely with the Structured Finance Team and the EMEA Legal Projects Team (EPC/O&M/PPA) and supervise the legal team's trainees where appropriate* to become involved in other areas of law where business needs ariseDuties and Responsibilities* Supporting the Business Development and Structured Finance Teams including working on: * Due Diligence of development and acquisition opportunities and proposal of risk mitigation solutions working closely with local counsel; * Transaction structuring - liaising with tax, finance and development teams to optimise corporate structures for projects;* Assisting development teams with land acquisition strategy and working with local counsel on template agreements;* Drafting, review and negotiation of co-development agreements, SPAs, SHAs, JV arrangements, development services agreements and related finance agreements (guarantee, loan agreements);* Assisting business development teams in presentations to the Executive Committee and Investment Committee including legal risk reports;* Reviewing and advising on key project agreements and financing requirements including EPC, O&M, asset management and grid sharing agreements;* Review and advice on PPAs and auction requirements together with the Legal Projects Team;* Management of sales and acquisition processes with business development and structured finance teams;* Analysing legal issues on entering new markets, engaging local counsel and preparing reports on legal and regulatory frameworks;* Supporting development of regional best practice including template agreements, project analysis tools and joining team training events;

Experience o 7 years+ Post Qualification Experienceo Experience gained in leading international / mid to top tier firms or senior in-house position. o Ability to deal confidently and build strong relations with senior business colleagues. o Flexible attitude and the ability to multi task. Strong time management / prioritisation skills.* Experience in M&A and corporate/commercial transactions ;* Experience instructing and managing external/local counsel;* Experience in drafting and negotiating commercial contracts; and* Familiarity with project financed power/infrastructure assets.
