Below are some case studies to illustrate why you should be talking to us! We’re very serious about confidentiality, so names of clients and candidates are left out. These are however all real life case studies.
Career advisors, career long…
Mr X first approached us as an ambitious junior corporate assistant at a top ten firm. His sights were set firmly on a partnership by his early 30s and we helped him make three very strategic career moves to support this aim, over a period of 4 – 5 years.
This culminated in some real celebrations, when he accepted a partnership appointment with a major European firm. We’d been with him every step of the journey - listening to his goals, advising him on his career plans and monitoring the market to identify the right opportunities.
Advertising strategic positions in a new area of law
We worked very closely with the senior team of an 80 partner law firm, to recruit a senior lawyer for a brand new strategic role. The position was one of the first of its kind within the legal sector, so we had to specify the role carefully and communicate its purpose clearly to the target audience.
To this end we wrote the job and person specifications to reflect business goals; created and then placed a hard hitting advertising campaign in legal media; advised on salary levels and subsequent negotiations; conveyed the concept clearly to interesting applicants; and interviewed all candidates.
As a result we recruited an exceptional candidate from a scarce pool of talent - and the appointment has proved a great success.
From London to the regions
A senior solicitor from a top 30 London law firm approached us to help him move his career from London to the regions. The brief was to find him a move that would not only bring him closer to family and friends, but also enhance his career.
Two consultants within Chadwick Nott worked together on the project, combining their local knowledge to identify firms that would be an ideal match for the candidate, culturally and professionally, as well as geographically.
As a result of this they were able to discuss the candidate’s credentials with a newly established law firm; something that eventually led to his appointment as a partner.
A long standing partner moves law firms
We were approached confidentially by a partner of many years standing within a City law firm who was seeking a career move. The head of our London practice, Charles Elderton, spent considerable time with the candidate to explore his objectives and advise on options.
Using the insights gained we approached a number of law firms and this created several opportunities. Charles helped the candidate prepare his business plan for the meetings, provided interview training and subsequently supported salary negotiations.
As a result the candidate secured a rewarding partnership with the central London office of a major regional law firm.
Through thick and thin!
Time and again we’re reminded that candidates have lives too! We’ve supported one person throughout her career, from her very first role, through marriage, divorce and name change, to her latest position.
The latest challenge was to find her a top PI role and firm in London, so that she could relocate for personal reasons. No vacancies had been posted by the top 5 firms, so we approached each of them directly to advise them of the candidate’s availability.
This led to 3 interviews and a lucrative offer from the number one firm. The appointment has been an outstanding success too, with the candidate growing the business enough to require two additional assistants. |
